Here's some highlights from my photo collection.

Crossroads Mall

In the winter of 2024, I got news of plans to close the Crossroads Mall in Waterloo. This was the excuse I needed to visit this place. Despite me leaving the flash on and pissing off security, I was able to get one of my favorite mall photos here.

A photo of the center court of the Crossroads Mall, looking southwest from the east court. Visible are storefronts in the east and west courts, all empty. The northern storefronts in the west court of the Crossroads Mall. Storefronts like Bath and Body Works, Victoria's Secret, and Finish Line are visible, all empty. The closed Spencers in the Crossroads Mall. The door of the store is down, with Spencer's graffiti outline logo at the bottom. The east court of the Crossroads Mall, facing the anchors. All storefronts shown are empty, with the elevator tower to the left of the image, with kids rides, a play area, and escalator in the middle of the court. The south entrance corridor of the Crossroads Mall, looking towards the door. To the left and right are empty storefronts, with a trashcan in the middle. The south entrance of the Crossroads Mall. In front is a sign for the mall on blue mesh, supported by lime metal posts. Two trees are on either side of the entrance sidewalk.

A Trip to Sioux Falls

On a trip to Sioux Falls, I figured I'd take pictures of the Empire Mall. Instead of taking photos of an old environment with an old camera, what if I took photos of a modern environment with an old camera? I also got some photos of some other places during this trip.

The West Mall 7 theater. In the middle is a ticket booth, lit by many incadescant bulbs. Above is a fancy typeface sign reading 'WestMall 7', and to the left and right are glass doors. A CD rack in the 41st street Last Stop, containing hundreds of various CDs. DVDs line the far wall, with a display stand of DVDs in front of the rack. To the right of the rack are video games and accessories. The center entrance hall of the Empire Mall. To the left are various storefronts, to the right is a coffe stand and a work wall. The south hall of the Empire Mall. Open storefronts are to the left and right, with a kids carousel and directory in the middle of the corridor. The Zumies at the Empire Mall. The storefront is glass with black trim, with the top of the storefront consisting of 1 foot tall stained glass panes. The north center entrance of the Empire Mall, backlit by a blue and orange evening sky.
